MEHMET AT SCHOOL

     Mehmet lives in Ankara. He is a student at Atatürk Anadolu Lisesi. He is very tidy and disciplined. Every morning he gets up early, at 6.50 am(=in the morning). First he has breakfast. After breakfast he gets dressed and goes to the bus stop*. He waits for about 10 minutes and then the bus arrives.
     Classes start at 8 am. The first hour is usually English. Mehmet likes English. He is good at English because he studies it everyday and listens to his teacher's advice. He reads a lot of English books. These books are not real-English books but they are simplified** books. It is not difficult for Mehmet to understand them because they are beginner level books.
     At twelve o'clock Mehmet has lunch. He usually has lunch at school as their house is not near the school. He usually has toast with ayran. Cemil usta makes these toasts and they are delicious. Students like Cemil usta and they call him "abi". Cemil usta is forty years old but he is happy when they call him "abi" because he feels younger.
     Mehmet goes home  at 3 pm(=in the afternoon). It usually takes 20 minutes to get home by bus. So, he arrives at home at about 3.20 pm. His mother is always happy to see him. She gives him some fruit when he comes from school. She says fruit are good for young people, especially students.
